Davis Translite is looking to add an additional shop mechanic to our growing team! Individuals interested in secure, steady employment with a company that has been serving the Northwest for over 70 years are encouraged to apply. We perform all maintenance and repairs for our fleet of 65 units in-house.

Details

• Must have a general understanding of mechanics, but not specific to truck or trailer repair. Willing to train in all other aspects including fabrication and motor work.

• A CDL is not required for this position, however basic tools and toolbox are required.

• Shift is Tuesday-Saturday, 8am-5pm but willing to work around your schedule within reason.

• You will be responsible for performing repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services on the shop floor. This includes weekly inspections, oil changes, diagnosis and repair of electrical/wiring, suspension components, brake, wheel end and air systems on trucks and trailers.

• You will learn to utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failures and complete repairs.

• Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times at end of shift.

• Review, complete or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.

• Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns (this rotates among team members) during working hours. We have a 2019 fully loaded Peterbilt service truck with all tools, parts, and tires necessary for roadside repair.

• Must perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

• Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks with other members of the team.

• Ability to perform physical activity. Must be able to push and pull objects over 50 pounds.

• Work environment is indoors in a large, clean, heated, and well-maintained shop!
